Middle Eastern Rice

This recipe was really easy to make, very healthy, and super satisfying. It makes enough to feed 4 people easily and, is one of those dishes that can stand on it’s own as a dinner. I made a few changes to the recipe I was given because of course I can’t do anything completely by the books, I always have to give it my Sara spin…. Also as a note, this is a spicy dish…so either you can leave out the Cayenne Pepper if you don’t like spice or you can do what I did - serve the dish with a side of Low Fat Yogurt (or you can make Raita) to cut the spice.

Black & White Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I am not a huge sweets person; in fact I always say that if faced with a burrito or a slice of cake, I would grab the burrito without thinking. However, there are a few desserts that I find irresistible, and these cookies are one of them. I am a huge fan of textures in food, and after much experimentation with ingredients, I found the perfect trifecta of flavors and textures to make the ultimate cookie!

Spinach Artichoke Dip

I am a diehard New York Giants football fan and one of my favorite things about football, are all the great foods you get to eat on game day. It’s almost like for that one day a week, you can eat all this delicious, not so healthy food, and not feel bad about it because football and snacks go together like Gin and tonic (that’s the saying right?) One classic dish, which at least incorporates some vegetables in it, is my Spinach and Artichoke Dip. I make mine on the healthier side, while most recipes call for an entire package of Cream Cheese; I make mine with a mixture of lower-fat but tasty ingredients.

Indian Spiced Nuts

This is probably one of the most addictive recipes I have and will be loved by everyone because of the great flavors that it encompasses. It will satisfy both the sweet tooth and the savory tongue and will leave you wanting more. It’s a great dish to have out during a party or while watching the game or it’s a great snack for during the day while at work.
